We operate as an independent business out of various clinic spaces. To respect the owners of each space, we ask that you only book assessments at the location where you intend to receive therapy.

The first appointment you book will need to be an “Assessment” visit with a Speech Language Pathologist. The only exception to this is if you have had an assessment completed by a Speech Language Pathologist within the last 6 months. In this case, please get in touch and we can talk about options!

Please note that clinicians have different areas of knowledge they are able to treat based on training and experience. If you need help selecting a therapist to best suit your needs please reach out we are happy to help!

FAQs

Do i need a referral?

1

You do not need a formal referral to access our services, you can self refer! On occasion insurance companies do require a physician’s note to be refunded for services but we do not require this on our end.

Are the services covered by insurance ?

2

We are private services not public. We will not be covered by OHIP, but in the majority of cases we are covered by private health benefits! Best to check into your coverage before booking so that you know your individualized plan. Infant feeding support is billed under speech language pathology services Please note that we do not direct bill at this time.

if my child was assessed at school, do they need to be assessed again?

3

If the assessment is less than 6 months old, then no! We just need a copy of the assessment to set some goals!

Is there a wait list?

4

We strive to have no wait list for our services. Please contact us for the most up to date availability for services.

what is your cancellation policy?

5

We understand that things come up and cancellations happen. We kindly request 24 hours notice of a cancellation to avoid all fees. Same day cancellations are charged a $20 fee. Any appointment cancelled within 4 hours of the start of that appointment will be billed as a no-show at 50% of the cost of the visit. Second occurrence no-shows are billed at 100%. We appreciate your understand as we want to be able to offer the spot to another client if you are not able to attend.

Can I switch locations?

6

Of course! We do kindly ask that we avoid doing so unless necessary in order to keep consistency for the clients and therapists. Please book your assessment in the location you would like to receive services long term.

Yes! We don’t mind one bit if siblings attend the sessions. You can decide if it is best for them to be in the therapy room or to wait outside.

7

Can I bring my other children?

Can a grandparent bring my child?

8

Of course! If you provide consent for your clinician to share information with grandparents, and consent for the assessment or therapy that is happening that day, we are happy to work with them and have them attend!

do you provide services for adults?

9

We do! Not every clinician works with adults, but we have clinicians at every location who do. Contact us and we will match you up with the right person!

do i need to be present for the assessment/therapy?

10

Whatever works best for you and your child. Some children work best when their parent is outside of the room, some prefer them to be in the room. We do ask that you stay within the clinic during the session and are available for questions at the beginning of an assessment.
